Right now we are on essentially the backend of an install for a metal roof, specifically, this is a standing seam, snap lock roof.
We are going to go around the side so you can get a better angle at some the detail that goes on this type of roofing system.
Right here, where they're actually cutting the panels to shape into the valley metal. Most of the panels get cut to length, but an important detail to do on these types of roofing systems is to cut the panel angle to match the actual valley metal that's on the roof in between the gable and the main structure of the roof.
One of the installers is doing up there is just checking and ensuring quality. He's using a mallet and little bit of body weight pressure to actually ensure that the panels are actually snapped into position with the fasteners that are up there.
Another thing that we promise and pride ourselves on for our job sites is having a Project Manager on site to ensure that the project continues to go as smoothly as possible and mitigate any kind of risk.
And this roof right here as far as the insurance not covering it, even though it's a retail roof, this is going to be a better quality roofing system. So this homeowners has done the research to invest in a better type of roofing system.
It's common to put an asphalt shingle roof onto a home, but over the long course of 10-20 years, you're going to have to replace that shingle roof. This type of material is going to last a lot longer than that, given that the weather isn't so bad.
Metal roofs area Class 4 shingle and they're generally going to last longer than an asphalt shingle.
The end result of this roofing system is something that's going to last a lot longer for wind protection and hail damage.
