Replacing your roof can be a daunting task, especially when it comes to dealing with insurance. Many homeowners find themselves confused about how the process works. However, understanding it doesn't have to be complicated. Our simple 5-step process breaks down the insurance roof replacement journey, making it easier for you to follow.
Step 1: Initial Inspection
The first step in the roof replacement process is an initial inspection by one of our roofing consultants. This inspection assesses your roof's current condition and determines if a replacement is necessary. During the inspection we will look over your entire home for any visible damage, leaks, or issues that could worsen over time.
This inspection is vital as it sets the foundation for the entire process. The roofing consultant will provide you with a detailed report, with pictures, outlining the exact condition of your roof. We will share this report with your insurance company. For instance, if the consultant finds missing shingles, hail indents, or water damage, these details will be crucial for your claim.

Step 2: Filing the Insurance Claim
Once you have the inspection report, it is time to file your insurance claim. Contact your insurance provider and submit the necessary documentation. This typically includes the inspection report, and clear photographs of the damage, which can illustrate the issues clearly for the insurance adjuster.
Make sure to provide detailed and transparent information. For example, if your roof suffered storm damage, your documentation could include photos taken immediately after the incident. While this step can seem intimidating, remember that your insurance company is there to support you and our roofing consultant is there to help you along the process.
Step 3: Insurance Adjuster Visit
After filing your claim, an insurance adjuster will visit your home to inspect the damage. This visit is crucial, as the adjuster will evaluate the extent of the damage and decide if your claim gets approved.
Being present during this meeting is essential. You can answer their questions and provide additional information about the roof's condition. For example, if you previously experienced leaks after heavy rain, mention this to help them understand the severity. Building a good rapport with the adjuster is helpful to ensure they understand the full scope of the damage to your property.

Step 4: Approval and Estimate
If the insurance adjuster approves your claim, you will receive a detailed estimate of how much your insurance will cover for the roof replacement. This document outlines the "insurance payout." At this point our roofing consultant will go over your options and help you determine the best materials and path forward.
Review this estimate carefully, as it may include deductibles or limitations depending on your policy. For example, if your policy has a deductible of 10%, and the approved claim amount is $10,000, you'll need to cover $1,000 out of pocket. Clarifying uncertainties at this stage can prevent issues later on.
In Texas, all homeowners that file a claim and have it approved, must pay their deductible and be able to show proof the deductible was paid.
At times an insurance company may deny your claim. In the event your claim is denied, but we can prove storm damage, we will request an additional inspection by the adjuster to go over all the details of the inspection report and show them the damage in great detail. Sometimes, this isn't enough and we have to bring in a Public Adjuster who will represent you, the homeowner during the insurance claim. We do not charge you any up front fees to bring in a Public Adjuster to support your in your insurance claim.
Step 5: Roof Replacement & Clean-up
The final step is the actual roof replacement. After receiving the initial insurance payout, we will coordinate with you the specific date your roof will be replaced and be in constant communication regarding the exact steps to completion.
Our team will coordinate the material delivery and ensure a Project Manager is on site the entirety of the roof replacement.
We always seek to complete the work to high standards. Our team will keep you informed throughout the process, and bring up any unexpected issues as they arise. After completion, the roofing consultant will walk you through a checklist and the work that was completed to ensure everything meets your standards before final payment is made.
